Heard about Manuka Oil?

Manuka Oil is a concentrated oil derived from distilling the leaves and flowers of the Manuka plant – the same one that Manuka honey comes from.

Anyway, you could call us Manuka super-fans – it’s a (how’s this for a cliche?) miracle of nature and everything your skin could ask for.

What makes Manuka such a cure-all?

Not only does Manuka nourish and moisturise the skin, it protects it – Manuka contains powerful enzymes (Sesquiterpenes and the Triketones, Leptospermone, Isoleptospermone and Flavesone – excuse the Jargon) that are anti-everything: antibacterial, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti-oxidising.

Plus, Manuka is an anti-irritant and great if you have sensitive skin.

How Manuka works:

Manuka’s greatest quality is its ability to draw moisture out of the bacteria in an affected area – essentially killing it.

Manuka will also keep your pores clear, which, in turn, prevents infection. Because blocked pores harbour bacteria that eventually get inflamed or infected.

Why use Manuka in our anti-chafe balm?

We wanted to make a balm that could not only buffer your skin from the irritation that comes from high-intensity training, but could handle the knocks and scrapes that often go with it. A balm that is multi-functional – it fights irritation (chafe) and soothes, moisturises and protects.

But don’t take our word for it.
